Understanding Pulaski County Jail Release
A Pulaski County release closes one episode of jail custody. It does not always end a criminal case, another hold, or post-release supervision. A bond or court-ordered release often returns the person to the community under stated conditions. Time served or completion of a local sentence can end physical custody while probation or another case continues. Parole and conditional release move a state prisoner into supervised status. A transfer closes the Pulaski County Jail booking but continues custody elsewhere.
The record source changes with the path. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office documents the jail exit. Missouri Case.net shows the public court authority and disposition. The Missouri Department of Corrections tracks active prison custody and supervision. MOVANS or the sheriff-linked VINE route may report a custody event. Federal and immigration transfers require their own systems. The words used in the source matter. “Left Pulaski County Jail” is accurate when the destination is unknown, while “released to the community” requires proof of that outcome.
- Time served
- A custodial term or credited period has been satisfied, subject to the judgment and any later conditions.
- Parole
- Conditional community release from a state prison sentence under Missouri Parole Board authority.
- Probation
- Court-ordered supervision that may occur without a prison term or after a local custody condition.
- Discharge
- The end of the relevant custody or supervision relationship, often later than physical release.
Pulaski County Release Types
The release type determines what to search next. A court action and the actual jail exit are related but separate events. For example, a bond entry can explain why release was authorized, yet the sheriff record supplies the processing time. A dismissal resolves a charge but may not address another case or hold. A photograph tied to the booking proves neither the release nor its destination.
| Release type | Meaning | Next record |
|---|---|---|
| Bond | The jail episode ended through a release mechanism; the case remains pending unless the docket says otherwise. | Sheriff release entry and Case.net bond docket |
| Time served | Custody credit or a local term ended, though supervision or another case may remain. | Judgment, jail calculation, and any active supervision record |
| Dismissal or court order | The court supplied authority affecting custody. | Case.net for authority; sheriff for actual exit |
| Parole or conditional release | A state prisoner left confinement under MODOC supervision. | MODOC active-offender search and Parole Board record |
| Transfer | Another agency assumed custody. | MODOC, another county, USMS/BOP, or ICE |
Note: “Deceased” is not a community release and should never be grouped with ordinary release outcomes.
Pulaski County Release Record Fields
The Pulaski County release record is the closing event for a specific booking. The sheriff’s current public interface does not expose its field set, cadence, retention period, or archive. A focused request should seek the fields needed to tie the person, booking, legal authority, and destination together. The timestamp and release authority carry more weight than a missing roster result or a booking photograph.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and identifiers | Which booked person the event concerns; compare more than a name when possible. |
| Booking number | The specific Pulaski County Jail custody episode. |
| Booking date and time | When the episode began. |
| Charges or holds | Why custody began and whether another restraint was recorded. |
| Bond information | The bond type or action connected with possible release. |
| Release date and time | When Pulaski County Jail processing ended. |
| Reason and authority | The recorded basis for release, dismissal, time served, court action, or transfer. |
| Destination | Whether the person returned to the community or moved to another custodian, if releasable. |
A release order and a later jail exit are not inconsistent. Courts record legal authority, while the jail records physical processing. VINE or MOVANS adds contemporaneous status information. None should be treated as a substitute for all the others.
Request Pulaski County Release Records
The sheriff site provides contact information but no verified online release-record form, posted local fee, named records custodian, records hours, or guaranteed production time. Contact the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office at 403 School Street in Waynesville, phone 573-774-6196, fax 573-774-6129, or dispatch@pcsheriff2.com. Ask for the preferred Missouri Sunshine request method before sending sensitive identifiers.
- Give the full name, any known booking number, and a narrow booking or release date range.
- Name the exact items: booking sheet, release or disposition entry, release date and time, authority, reason, destination, and transfer agency.
- Request the booking photograph separately because storage and review may differ from the release log.
- Ask for electronic delivery and a cost estimate before research, review, or duplication begins.
- If confidential material is mixed in, request the nonexempt portion and a legal explanation for any denial.
Missouri section 610.023 requires the custodian to act by the end of the third business day. Production can take longer for reasonable cause, but the response must explain the cause and identify the earliest available time and place. A requested denial explanation must cite the law. Section 610.026 sets the statewide fee framework, not a Pulaski-specific quote.
Pulaski County Release Record Law
Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, controls the request process. Section 610.100 defines an arrest report as the arrest record plus the circumstances and charge, including incidental detention or confinement. Arrest and incident reports are generally open under its rules, but an arrest report can close when no charge follows within the statutory period. The law does not promise that every booking photograph is automatically published online.
Sections 610.120 and 610.140 also change what a public search can show. Expungement can close eligible records held by courts and agencies. Closed records are not destroyed; they are kept separately and confidentially, subject to statutory access. Juvenile, victim, medical, security, investigative, sealed, and other protected content can also limit disclosure. A missing public result may reflect a lawful restriction, not the absence of a past booking.
Public absence is not proof that no Pulaski County release record exists. Respect every closure, expungement, and confidentiality limit.
Pulaski Release Records After Expungement
Missouri’s Form CR 360 makes one local issue clear: an expungement petition must account for every record custodian whose files are affected. Potential holders include the circuit or municipal court, sheriff, city police, prosecutor, Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS, Department of Revenue, and other agencies. An order that omits a holder may not change that separate record. The exact order and named defendants control.
General waiting periods under section 610.140 are tied to completion of every authorized disposition, with substantial exclusions and other conditions. Arrest-only relief follows a separate route. Do not use a missing Case.net page, MODOC result, or sheriff entry to infer that no event occurred. Do not seek a workaround for closed records. When a public record remains available, read it with the later case outcome rather than treating an old booking entry as current custody proof.
Pulaski Bond Release Versus Outcome
A Pulaski bond-out is not a completed case. Case.net bond and docket entries can identify the court authority, while the sheriff’s booking and release record establishes when the person actually left the jail. Missouri section 557.011 recognizes several possible case dispositions, including imprisonment, fines, suspended sentences, probation, and detention as a probation condition. A person may be out of jail while the criminal matter or supervision continues.
Does a bond entry prove the person walked out? No. It supports the legal basis, but another hold or processing step may change the physical custody result. Confirm the actual exit, release code, and destination with the sheriff. Then preserve the case number and docket entry so the release event remains tied to the correct proceeding.
Search Pulaski County Released Inmates
Start with the custody system, not a broad name search. A recent booking at Pulaski County Jail points to the sheriff. A Missouri DOC number, state prison sentence, parole, conditional release, or state probation points to MODOC. A federal conviction belongs with BOP and PACER. An immigration pickup belongs with ICE. Searching the wrong system turns “not found” into a false claim of release.
- Check the sheriff’s official site and recognize that its inmate routes currently lead to an agency placeholder, not a working roster or archive.
- Contact the jail for the named booking’s exit time, reason, authority, and transfer destination.
- Search Case.net by litigant name, narrow to Pulaski County, and read the case header, bond, docket, judgment, and sentence.
- Use MOVANS for a current status or notification, then verify the provider and event timestamp.
- Use MODOC for active state custody or supervision. Use Sunshine data or an individual request after full discharge.
- Follow a stated transfer in the receiving agency’s system instead of calling the Pulaski exit a community release.
A released person normally leaves a live jail roster. In Pulaski County, the official placeholder makes roster absence even less useful as evidence.
For the official same-day-feed status and fallback, use the Pulaski County Jail Releases: 24 Hours page. It does not imitate a list that the sheriff does not publish.
Pulaski Released Inmates in MODOC
The MODOC Offender Web Search covers active offenders. That includes people in prison and people physically released from prison who remain on probation, parole, or conditional release. It expressly excludes discharged offenders. A missing MODOC result cannot be translated into “released” or “no history.” Search by DOC ID when possible, because a number is less ambiguous than a name. The name route uses first and last name and includes aliases.
| Search or result field | How to use it | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| DOC ID | Best person-specific search input when known | Applies to MODOC records, not a county booking number |
| First and last name | Name search with alias matching | Verify identity before selecting a same-name record |
| Assigned Place | Helps distinguish an institution from a field assignment | Read with the data timestamp |
| Field/Institution | Shows whether the active relationship is community supervision or confinement | Does not create a discharged-offender archive |
| Completed Flag | Appears in FAK930 historical working data | Working data may be incomplete or inaccurate |
The MODOC Sunshine page provides the historical fallback. Its FAK930 file includes current and former supervision records from about 1974 forward, a Completed Flag, and exact fields named Sentence Minimum Release Date and Sentence Maximum Release Date. For a reliable person-specific answer, request the release or discharge record from OD.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov.
The official MODOC working-data page shows how the state frames these fields.
The screenshot supports the records-request and data-field route, not a promise that a displayed working date is a completed release.
Pulaski Release Records in Court
Pulaski County belongs to Missouri’s 25th Judicial Circuit with Maries, Phelps, and Texas Counties. Case.net provides the statewide public case search, but some public attachments may require a courthouse visit or clerk request. A docket entry without a link can mean that no attachment exists or remote access is unavailable. It does not by itself prove sealing. The Pulaski Circuit Clerk is at 301 Historic Route 66 East in Waynesville and can be reached at 573-774-4755.
Municipal matters may be handled through Waynesville or St. Robert rather than the circuit division. Those city and court routes explain local case authority, but they are not jail release locators. A judgment, dismissal, bond entry, or order should be paired with the sheriff’s exit record. Court disposition answers what the judge ordered. The jail record answers when Pulaski County custody ended.
Note: Use at least two identifiers, such as full name plus case number, booking number, birth date, or DOC number, to reduce mistaken identity.
Pulaski County Recent Release Limits
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s official web and app manifest includes “Inmate Search” and “Arrests and Incidents.” Both routes currently lead to the agency’s “Check back for Updates” page. No operational current roster, 24-hour release view, 72-hour release view, historical archive, release-date field, booking-photo field, cadence, or retention period can be verified from those routes.
This is a verified absence of public online functionality, not an absence of agency records. Contact the sheriff for a named booking and a narrow date range. Use Case.net to understand the order or case result. Use MOVANS for current person-specific event information and alerts. If the sheriff identifies a transfer, continue with the receiving agency. Do not substitute a commercial roster for an official Pulaski County release list.
Pulaski Release Supervision Search
The Missouri Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole supervises probationers, parolees, and people on conditional release. It does not supervise every person who leaves Pulaski County Jail. A probationer may never have served a prison term. A released state prisoner can remain searchable because supervision is active. Read Assigned Place and the Field/Institution indicator, then use the official office directory to locate the responsible field office.
Early discharge from supervision is a separate event from physical release. Missouri’s Earned Compliance Credit program can provide eligible compliant supervisees 30 days of credit per compliant month under the official rules. Custody, absconder status, a violation-report month, exclusions, and jurisdiction requirements affect eligibility. The court, Parole Board, or division controls the legal endpoint. Verify the current assignment through MODOC and the official office directory.
Pulaski Release Alerts and Transfers
The sheriff’s official menu links to Missouri VINELink, while Missouri now operates MOVANS as its in-house public search and SMS or email subscription portal. Search one person, compare the offender ID, identity, provider, status, and location, and preserve the event time. A MOVANS or VINE alert is useful evidence that the provider transmitted a custody change. It does not explain every code or prove that no other authority took custody.
For a federal conviction, use the BOP Inmate Locator and PACER. BOP covers federal inmates from 1982 forward and people released after 1982. “RELEASED” means no longer in BOP custody, not necessarily free from supervision or another hold. PACER supplies the federal docket and release order. The U.S. Marshals Service may hold or transport federal prisoners before BOP placement, but it has no public retrospective release locator like BOP’s.
Pulaski Jail Release or ICE Transfer
An ICE detainer changes the meaning of release. ICE and the Pulaski County Sheriff signed a 287(g) Warrant Service Officer agreement on July 29, 2025. The agreement contemplates a transfer to an ICE field office or detention facility within 48 hours, or release from the local facility. It does not make Pulaski County Jail an ICE detention center and does not show that any named person was involved.
Confirm both endpoints when a jail record mentions ICE. The sheriff records when the county booking ended. ICE ODLS covers current ICE custody or release from ICE custody within 60 days. It accepts a nine-digit A-number plus country of birth, or exact name plus country of birth, with date of birth optional for the name route. A handoff to ICE is continued custody, even though Pulaski County’s hold ended.
Pulaski Release and Custody Sources
No single portal answers every release question. Match the source to the custody stage and the fact being checked. A current-custody tool should not be presented as a historical release archive, while a court disposition should not be presented as the exact jail-exit timestamp.
| Source | Best use | What it cannot prove alone |
|---|---|---|
| Pulaski sheriff record | County booking exit, reason, authority, and destination | Later state, federal, or ICE custody outcome |
| Case.net | Court authority, bond, judgment, sentence, and disposition | Minute of physical jail exit |
| MODOC active search | Active prison custody or community supervision | Fully discharged history |
| MOVANS/VINE | Current status, custody events, and alerts | Certified permanent release record |
| BOP/PACER | Federal custody release and court context | County jail processing |
| ICE ODLS | Current ICE custody or recent ICE release | Durable county release history |
Pulaski County Release Facility Map
The official facility sweep supports one dedicated local page: Pulaski County Jail. It is operated by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. No MODOC adult prison or BOP institution is listed in Pulaski County. Fort Leonard Wood should not be turned into a public correctional-facility page without official evidence, and municipal police or court offices should not be mislabeled as detention facilities.
This one-facility map keeps the search path clear. County bookings go to the sheriff and Case.net. A state transfer goes to MODOC. A federal matter follows USMS, PACER, and BOP according to the stage. An immigration handoff follows ICE. A transfer between systems is a custody transition, not three different descriptions of the same community release.
